Stacey is from the so-called Mod Era (1967 to 1972) and was featured as Barbie's british friend. Other friends back then were Christie, PJ, Jamie, Steffie, Miss America, Truly Scrumptious and Julia. As far as i could find out, Stacey was produced over 4 years (1968-71). The talking dolls had a british accent. Almost 40 years after the introduction of Stacey, Mattel re-produced Stacey in 3 variations: nude but with wrist tag, with mix-colored swimsuit in a small box and as "Nite Lightning" gift set; at least i found these 3 varations in the internet.
The original Stacey dolls:
1968: Nr. 1125, 1st edition of Talking Stacey, two-piece swimsuit with stripes, long blonde or red hair, Mexico body
1968: Nr. 1165 Stacey, Twist and Turn Body, red swimsuit, clear x-stand, long straight blonde or red hair, Japan Body
1969: Nr. 1125, same Talker as 1968, but the look of the box changed a bit (have yet not found any pictures in the net)
1969: Nr. 1165 with "nite lightning" gift set, she had shorter hair then the other Staceys, one-piece wild print swimsuit
1970: Nr. 1125, 2nd edition of Talking Stacey, same hair as 1968, blue-silver swimsuit, Mexico or HongKong body
1970/71: Nr. 1165, new pink-rose floral swimsuit, red or blonde hair, x-stand included, Japan body
